In recent years, transparent screens have become extremely popular in the field of commercial displays, especially in shopping mall windows, chain restaurants, technology exhibition halls, etc. More and more bosses have begun to inquire about prices. I have been engaged in commercial display engineering for more than ten years, and today I want to dismantle and analyze the true price of transparent screens and the purchase methods.
How much does a square meter of transparent screen cost?
The price of a transparent screen is not a fixed fixed price. Even if it has the same specifications as one square meter, its quotation range can jump from 3,000 to 30,000. The core factors leading to this price difference mainly focus on pixel spacing, light transmittance, and lamp bead brand. Among them, P3.91 and P7.81 are the two most commonly used specifications in window projects. P3.91 has a high definition and is suitable for viewing in stores with a short distance. Its market price is roughly 8,000 to 12,000 per square meter; P7.81 has a larger pixel spacing and is more suitable for long-distance viewing. The price is relatively low and can be controlled at 5,000 to 7,000 per square meter. If there is a demand for customized arc or special-shaped structures, the unit price will usually fluctuate upward by about 20% on this basis.
Newbies often overlook installation costs. Taking the glass curtain wall as an example, in terms of steel structure, power wiring, control system, these related auxiliary materials plus labor costs, it will cost an additional 1,500 to 2,000 per square meter.
There are some customers who just compare the prices of bare screens. Later, after the installation is completed, they realize that the total cost far exceeds the budget, and the excess exceeds the margin by a large margin. Therefore, this pit that is particularly easy for people to fall into must be avoided in advance.
How to choose transparent LED for shopping mall windows
When choosing a transparent screen, you must first check the installation environment, such as the glass enclosure in the atrium of a shopping mall and the street-facing display windows. Their requirements for light transmittance are completely different. Street-facing display windows will be exposed to direct sunlight during the day. If the light transmittance is less than 65%, it will make the screen look dull and affect the lighting in the store. The light in the atrium is relatively soft, so the light transmittance can be appropriately reduced here in exchange for higher brightness.
It does not mean that the higher the brightness, the better. Once it exceeds 5,000 nits, there will be a dazzling effect at night, and it will also accelerate the aging of the lamp beads.
Check the lamp bead packaging process, this is a very critical part. Formal lamp beads have the advantage of low cost, but they are prone to yellowing after being put into use for a long time. Flip-chip lamp beads perform very well in terms of heat dissipation and have more stable colors. However, they are relatively expensive, about 30% more expensive than formal lamp beads. Among the many projects I have handled, those screens that can still maintain a sense of transparency after three years basically use the flip-chip process.
In addition, don't forget to ask about the compatibility of the control system. Some small manufacturers use closed-source systems. If they plan to connect third-party players in the future, they will encounter extremely difficult situations.
Be sure to carefully check the after-sales terms word for word. Take the transparent screen as an example. Once the lamp beads are damaged, the entire module must be replaced. Within the warranty period, the cost difference between free replacement and maintenance services only is four to five times. Therefore, before signing a contract, be sure to ask about the warranty period, response time, on-site fees and other related matters. It is best to clearly write these items into the supplementary agreement. I have seen too many customers who, in pursuit of temporary gains, have chosen off-brand products with no after-sales guarantee. In the second year, the screen became cracked, and when I went to find someone to repair it, the quote turned out to be higher than buying a new screen.
The transparent screen is not a fast-consumable product, and its normal service life can reach eight to ten years. Putting more thought into selecting models in the early stage can save a lot of maintenance costs in the later stage.
